Info | Doreen was born in Midale, Saskatchewan and grew up in the Macoun-Estevan area on the family farm. Doreen received her education in Macoun. Later Doreen married Vic Eagles, and they began their own family farming operation. Doreen and Vic have two children: Terry and Trisha, both who have married and are raising families of their own and who have provided five grandchildren for Doreen and Vic.
Doreen has always had a strong interest in the political way of life and has been involved at both the federal and provincial level. She was elected as the MLA for the Saskatchewan Party in the general election on September 16, 1999 and re-elected in Nov 2003. Previously Doreen has held the critic duties of Intergovernmental Affairs; Culture, Youth & Recreation; Social Services; and Liquor & Gaming.
Doreen is currently the Critic for SaskWater, Status of Women, and Provincial Secretary; and Deputy Critic for Seniors. She was a member of the Standing Committee on Crown and Central Agencies; Committees on Communication, Non-Controversial Bills, Private Bills, Privileges and Elections, and Tobacco Control. Currently, she is a member of the House Services Committee & Caucus.
In her spare time, Doreen is an avid gardener and reader, and is beginning to enjoy the game of golf.
