InfoMargaret Delisle is a woman who is still actively involved in her community. Mayor of Sillery from 1985 to 1994, she served as President of the Federation of Canadian Municipalities and Vice-Chair of the Communauté urbaine de Québec executive committee.

Margaret Delisle was first elected as Member for Jean-Talon in the general election held on September 12, 1994. She was reelected in 1998 and 2003. Ms. Delisle was alternately the Official Opposition critic for municipal affairs and responsible for the National Capital in the matters of Tourism and International relations. She was a member of the Delegation of the National Assembly for Relations with European Institutions (DANRIE), member, Québec Section, of the Commonwealth Women Parliamentarians of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA), member of the Committee on Institutions, member of the Committee on Planning and the Public Domain and member of the Committee on Education. From April 2003 to February 2005, she was Assistant Government Whip and serves as Presiding Officer for the Québec region. On February 18, 2005, shw was appointed Minister for Youth Protection and Rehabilitation by Premier Jean Charest and member of Comité ministériel du développement social, éducatif et culturel.

She is involved in various community groups like the Canadian Advisory Council on the Status of Women, Canada 125 Corporation, Fondation Centraide and is a member of many other boards of directors. She was the recipient of a medal commemorating the 125th anniversary of the Canadian Confederation.

Born in Québec, Margaret Delisle is married and the mother of four children.
