Info | Michael H. Cochran is executive director of the Ohio Township Association and an attorney in private practice. He is also a member of the Otterbein College Board of Trustees. In the past, Cochran was a teacher in the Logan Elm Local School District (Pickaway County) and an assistant prosecuting attorney in both Pickaway and Franklin counties. Prior to his election to the State Board of Education, he was city attorney for Reynoldsburg and a member of the Reynoldsburg City Council, serving as the council’s president from 1980 to 1983. From 1986 to 1999, Cochran was a member of the Reynoldsburg Board of Education, during which time he was on the board’s finance committee and negotiation team.
Cochran is currently co-chair of the Board’s Achievement Committee and is also a participant in the Urban Schools Initiative. In the past, he served as the Board’s state legislative liaison.
Cochran earned a B.A. from Otterbein, a J.D. from Capital University Law School, and a master of divinity from Methodist Theological School of Ohio. Representing the Sixth State Board District, he serves Franklin County. His term expires December 31, 2008.
