Info | A Searsport native, Rep. Lance Weddell attended the Cambridge School of Radio and TV Broadcasting in Boston, Mass., and worked as a TV studio director for Channel 5 in Bangor before joining the U.S. Army.
After a three-year stint in the Army from 1965-68, Weddell attended college under the GI Bill. He earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education in three years from the University of Maine at Orono, while working full-time at MPBN.
Following college, Weddell taught special education for a number of years. He also worked as a district executive for Boy Scouts of America, Pine Tree Council, Portland; sold antiques; started a survival equipment business; joined the 101st Air Refueling Wing Bangor as a communication/computer programmer; and worked at Bangor Mental Health Institute before retiring.
Weddell has a master’s in school administration and supervision and a C.A.S. in school superintendency. He is a member of the Masonic Order, Sons of the American Revolution, American Legion, and Disabled American Veterans. He and his wife, Martha Jane, live in Frankfort with their three cats.
