InfoAttorney Joseph "Jay" Savino, 38, the candidate for the 34th Senate District in the
Bronx and Westchester Counties, has the support of the Republican, Independence,
and Conservative Parties. He is a lifelong resident of the district, where he and his
wife, Carri, are now raising their four children.

He was educated in the traditions of the Christian Brothers at Iona Preparatory
School and Iona College in New Rochelle. In addition to practicing law in the
Bronx as a partner in Faga Savino LLP, Jay Savino is Chairman of the Bronx County
Republican Committee, a position he was elected to in 2005.

Jay Savino has been distinguished by local organizations for his work in both the
public and private sectors as an advocate for the borough's children, families,
elderly, underprivileged and business community.

After working in the Bronx Torts Division of the New York City Corporation
Counsel for three years, Jay Savino became Counsel to the New York State
Senate and Deputy Chief of Staff to then-Bronx/Westchester State Senator
Guy J. Velella. As Deputy Chief of Staff to this senior Senator, Jay Savino
worked closely with community and business organizations and served Bronx and
Westchester constituents across the 34th Senate District. He also helped secure
funding for community programs.

"I came from an environment of constituent service. I know the importance of
working hard and getting the job done for the people who rely on you as their
state representative," he said.

Jay Savino has been elected or appointed to several positions of public trust. In
2003, he was elected District Leader in the 80th Assembly District, which is part
of the 34th Senate District. He was appointed to the Bronx Republican Law
Committee in 2000, and in 2004, he was selected to serve as Bronx Republican
Commissioner for the New York City Board of Elections. In 2005, the same year
he was elected Bronx GOP Chairman, he formed Faga Savino LLP, which has
offices in the Bronx and Westchester. Jay Savino currently serves on many
community organizations, including the Bronx Columbus Day Parade Committee
as Recording Secretary and Advisory Board of the Throggs Neck Volunteer
Ambulance Corps.

Jay Savino has fought for sound, quality education for children. He has a plan to
keep neighborhoods affordable, including reform of state finances to reduce
property taxes, and accountability of state bureaucrats to stop wasteful
government spending. Jay Savino advocates a business friendly environment to
help businesses thrive and create local jobs. He has a crime-fighting plan that
would demand civil confinement for sex offenders; require persons charged with
violent crimes to submit DNA as they would fingerprints; create harsher sentences
for criminals who prey on the elderly and children, and use grant funding to make
neighborhoods safer. He has also fought hard to improve quality of life issues in
the 34th Senate District.

Jay Savino received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Iona College and Juris
Doctor from the City University of New York. He also studied abroad for four
years in England at the prestigious Kings School Rochester. Jay Savino and his
wife, Carri, have four children: Joseph, 7; Andrew, 5; Ava, 3, and Michael, 5
months.
