Info | I decided to run for office because I believe in good government and I want to work for the health, safety, protection and welfare for all Ohioans. I will fix the broken system in Columbus and restore ethical, efficient government to Ohio. I want run for office because Ohio needs positive change. Our constituents are entitled to qualified, dedicated and caring representatives.
When I was in high school, my family moved to Argentina due to my father's job tranfer. During that time, Argentina and other South American countries were experiencing significant government unrest and political overthrows. I quickly realized the value of a stable democracy and developed a tremendous respect for the United States Constitution.
GOALS -
I will to work to make health care affordable and available to all Ohioans. We can provide health care in a more efficient and affordable way. We can relieve the burden of ever escalating insurance costs on individuals, business and industry and remain competitive in the global market.
I will work to comply with the court orders to fairly fund education in Ohio. I am committed to providing an excellent education to all students. I believe funding education is the best investment Ohio can make.
Lastly, I want to end the culture of corruption that permeates Columbus. I will provide government oversight and end the "pay to play" system. I will enforce ethics rules for government officials. Our taxes must be spent on the health, safety, protection and welfare of all Ohioans and not wasted on bloated, inefficient, sweetheart contracts and deals.
EXPERIENCE -
My experience in government, education, law and land development have prepared me for government work. My passion has obligated me to work for a higher quality of life on behalf of all Ohioans. Basic needs such as health care, education, security, decent job opportunities and a level playing field to achieve the American Dream must be available to all citizens.
I was elected to the Central Bucks School Board, the third largest district in Pennsylvania. I served on the Finance, Building, Technology and Human Resources Committees. I was appointed to the Executive Council of the Middle Bucks Institute of Technology, the regional vocational/technical school.
I was appointed to the New Britain Township Planning Commission and served nine years and was elected Vice Chair. During that time, the township experienced rapid development and we met the challenge of managing infrastructure and controlling growth.
I have volunteered in my community over 18 years. I volunteered for the Red Cross, in my daughters' schools and PTOs, as a Bucks County Intermediate Unit surrogate parent for children in state custody, and as a civic association president. I am a member of the Northeast Welcomers Club and their current Co- President, the Mason Lions Club and past Vice President, and a past member of the Chalfont PA Lions Club.
PERSONAL -
I grew up in Dearborn, Michigan and graduated from the University of Michigan. I have lived in Argentina and Switzerland. I am married to Kenneth M. Feld, Ph.D. and we celebrated our twenty-fifth wedding anniversary last October. We have two teenage daughters. Our older daughter graduated from high school this June and will attend college in August. OUr younger daughter is in junior high school.
