| Info | Mike Murphy was born and raised on the west side of Columbus and takes pride in his community. His father, a World War II veteran and retired railroad worker, taught him the value of an honest day’s work. His mother was a stay at home mom and helped instill the importance of family, community, honesty and integrity.
Mike’s parents placed a high value on education as well as being a part of the workforce. Mike is a product of public schools and received a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture Business from the Ohio State University, and a Teaching Licensure from Ohio Dominican University. Mike believes all of Ohio's children deserve a quality public education.
Mike Murphy has been part of the workforce since the age of 16. He’s worked at the neighborhood corner store, painted houses, and loaded trailers. Working as part of a team in every job he’s held has lent Mike the ability to lead and manage toward solutions that make sense.
He has been employed at a local logistics company for 12 years, holding positions of dispatcher, team leader, pricing specialist and manager. There he met his wife, Theresa, and has settled into the Galloway area of Southwest Columbus with his wife and their two children, Connor and Ian. Formerly members of St. Cecilia Catholic Church, the Murphy family currently attends St. Christopher Catholic Church.
