He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, a Master’s Degree in Education and has worked for the Bridgeport Board of Education as a Social Studies instructor for thirteen years. As an instructor at Bassick High School, Andres served as the Aspira Club Advisor where he has been very instrumental in inspiring young Latino students to fulfill their career and future aspirations.
In his role as the Aspira Club Advisor, Andres, has led his students in various community service projects for which the club has received various awards. Shore Area Community Development Corporation, a branch of Central Connecticut Coast YMCA, awarded the club with the “Strong Communities Builder” award and the American Lung Association of CT recognized Andres’ Aspira group as a key contributor to their Asthma Walk.
In addition to being elected State Representative for the 128th District in 2006, Andres has represented the 137th Common Council District in the City of Bridgeport for four terms, currently serving his fifth term.
