| Info | Roger Goudy has worked in the field of education his entire career. He currently is employed as the Director of Business Affairs for the South Euclid-Lyndhurst Schools. This year is his 32nd year in the field of education as a teacher, coach and administrator. He currently holds a Superintendents Certificate and Business Managers License through the State of Ohio. Roger has recently completed his Doctorate in Education from the University of Akron (2005). Prior to this he successfully completed the Professional Fellows program at the Weatherhead School of Management of Case Western Reserve University (2002). His Masters Degree is in Sports Management from the University of Idaho (1981) and has a Bachelors of Science Degree in Education from Kent State University (1974).
Roger Goudy is the elected Ward 7 Councilman for the City of Solon and has been successfully elected twice to this office. Roger has also served as the Vice Mayor for the City of Solon for the past three years. He currently is appointed to the Finance Committee, Joint Properties Committee, and Personnel Committee in addition to his role as Vice Mayor. Dr. Goudy chaired the Safety & Public Properties Committee during the construction of Solons 19.2 million dollar community/senior center and the 2.6 million dollar Fire Station # 3 projects. Both projects were on time and under budget.
Roger also serves as the National Secretary of the AAU (Amateur Athletic Union of the Untied States). He is one of only 5 National Officers and is currently in the middle of his third four year elected term. Roger is only the 4th person from the State of Ohio to hold this position in the 118 year history of the AAU. Former Ohio Governor James Rhodes and John Nagy were two of the other Ohio AAU National officers. Roger Goudy also serves as the National Chairman for AAU Volleyball for both indoor and the beach programs. Locally he has volunteered as a youth coach for several area boys and girls travel basketball teams.
Roger is married to Christine Metzger Goudy, a special education teacher for Orange City Schools, and has four children Brian (17) Kyle (15) Brett (13) and Taylor (10) all of which attend the Solon City Schools. Roger is a member of the Knights of Columbus and he and his family are a members of the St Rita’s Catholic Church in Solon.
