“As a long time Ohio resident, I have come to greatly appreciate the natural landscape in which we live in. I want to build real representation in our district and for our state that will continue to maintain this region for our children to want to live here.
I would like to lead in Columbus in the following areas:
Real Public School Funding. The Ohio Supreme Court has determined the current structure in which schools are funded is unconstitutional. The current leadership in the Ohio General Assembly has done nothing to address this situation. We are starving our children of preparing for college and beyond!
-taskforce to determine fair and equitable funding across the state
-work across the aisle and do what is right and fair for all children
-build a constitutional and advanced system that makes Ohio a model in the nation
Real Election Reform. The basic core of democratic principles is the ability for all eligible voters to cast a regular ballot and have the confidence that it will be counted as intended. Transparent, secure, and accurate elections are key for voter confidence!
-more training and recruiting of poll workers
-re-insert language to Ohio Revised Code to allow for Ohioans to contest federal elections
-multiple random audits on new voting equipment
Community Conversations on Environmental Integrity and Sustainability. Few in our region have not taken a step into our natural landscapes, the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, the Ohio and Erie Canal Corridor Towpath, the many state and local parks in our neighborhoods.
-sustainability of land resources
-continued revitalization of our water resources
-real solutions to maintain the integrity of our land, public and private
I have demonstrated over the past five years my commitment to work towards a stronger community. I believe that people share in the same values; family, pride in their community, and a better day for their children. At the college level I have told my students to look at the challenges our history has shown and think of how to do better. In all aspects of having a career, family, and success, I believe our 27th district has a lot to offer!
