Info | James Dessart lives in River Philip, is 28 years old and grew up near Montreal. He has moved to Nova Scotia recently, and now is very happy to call it home.
He received a collegial diploma in Creative Arts from Dawson College, Montreal, in 1997. During his time at Dawson, he received the Community Spirit Award for his involvement in the alternative education community of Dawson's New School.
In 2001 he was conferred a Bachelor of Computer Science, with distinction, and a minor in Linguistics, from Concordia University, Montreal. While attending Concordia, he participated in the Co-operative Education Program for Computer Science students, and was able to get an early start on his job experience.
Since then, he has been pursuing a career in software creation, and now takes on contracts to develop software, when they become available. However, he and his wife moved to Nova Scotia so that he could work on freelance fiction writing.
James has stepped forward to run as a Green Party candidate in order to work towards a Green Legislative Assembly, and to provide a Green option for Cumberland South's voters. He is a committed humanist and environmentalist, and believes he has the vision needed to help Cumberland County develop in a sustainable way.
