He is a former board member of LIFT Housing, Big Spring Partners, the Downtown Redevelopment Authority, and the Chamber of Commerce of Huntsville-Madison County.
Dotts is a member of the Huntsville Rotary Club and Economic Development Partnership of Alabama. He attends Episcopal Church of the Nativity in Huntsville.
