InfoJim is originally from Decatur and has lived in Limestone County the past 14 years. He served in the Army National Guard from 1960 thru 1965, serving as Platoon Sergeant his last two years. He worked in the computer industry for 25 years finishing his career as project manager in 1992. In 1993, he built and co-owned Huntsville Dealers Auto auction at McCully Mill Road and HWY 72 in Athens. After operating it for almost 4 years, he sold it and started developing real estate. Jim is very active in the local political scene, having served as Chairman of the Limestone County Republican Party for the past six years.

Jim has been married for 43 years to the former Jo Davis, and together they have 2 children, 5 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

EDUCATION

* Jim believes in a strong education and paying our teachers a fair wage.

FAMILY VALUES

* Jim is opposed to abortion except where the life of the mother is threatened, rape, or incest.
* Jim is opposed to homosexual marriages and believes marriage is only between a man and a woman.

INFRASTRUCTURE

* Jim knows we need to build infrastructure for the growing county. With BRAC bringing 14,000 jobs to the area, the following changes must be made:
1. Jim would like to see I-565 widened to six lanes.
2. Jim would like to see US Highway 72 widened to six lanes.
3. Jim would commission a study concerning putting a sanitation system in East Limestone County in order to install a sewage system.

SECOND AMENDMENT

* Jim supports the right to keep and bear arms.

TAXES

* Jim opposed the proposed 1.2 billion dollar tax increase.
