InfoBrian Terry, son of Jerry and Judy Terry and grandson of the late Milton Ordway and Katie Terry, shares the Terry family’s deep roots in the community and politics of Limestone County and Alabama.

Brian Terry’s grandfather, Milton Ordway Terry, known as “MO” to many friends and family, was known as an expert mechanic and operated an automotive garage for many years in Limestone County.

Joseph Allen Terry, father of Ordway “MO” known as “Paw Joe” to many in the community was another cornerstone of the Limestone Community.

Another Terry ancestor is Allen Favor Terry, who is buried in the Berea Cemetery on Elk River Mills Road. He is most noted for joining the Confederate Army in 1863 at the age of 18.

The Terry family members were involved in Limestone County and Alabama politics back in the early 1800s. Brian’s great, great, great, great-uncle Nathaniel Terry occupied a prominent place among early Limestonians, owning extensive lands in the southeastern portion of the county.

Democrat Senator Nathaniel Terry served in the Alabama Senate from 1836 – 1845 and served as the President of the Alabama Senate for four consecutive terms from 1841-1845 – when he opposed Joshua Martin for governor.
