Info Bill Harris is a veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom, and is a Major in the Alabama Army National Guard, where he has served for the last twenty-three years. Bill is a local real estate agent in Prattville with ERA Vick and Associates. Bill has entered the race for Alabama House Seat 88, currently held by Mac Gipson of Prattville. He will challenge the incumbent in the June 2006 Republican Primary.

Bill enlisted in the Army National Guard at the age of 17 while a senior in high school. Over the last twenty-three years he has the great privilege to travel to many foreign countries and all over the United States. In 1985 he attended Office Candidate School and in 1986 was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the Alabama Army National Guard. He has had the honor of serving as a company commander twice, and recently served as the Public Affairs Officer for United States Army Central Command in Saudi Arabia. Bill has served in the Middle East and recently completed tours of duty assisting in Hurricane Katrina and Rita relief efforts in Louisiana.

Bill has worked at all levels of politics. At the age of fifteen he want door to door campaigning for President Ronald Regan. In 1996 he successfully ran Robert Aderholt's first bid for the United States Congress, and then went on to serve as Congressman Aderholt's District Director. In 1997 he ran the state's Republican Party in the role of executive director. In 2004 Harris was elected to represent the Republican Party as the convention delegate from the second congressional district.
