Info | Born in New York City, Lohman graduated from the University of Chicago with an outstanding authority on education, sociology, criminology, labor management, juvenile delinquency, and public administration.
He served as an associate professor at the University of Wisconsin, a visiting professor at Washington University, University of Louisville, University of Michigan, University of Denver and the American University in Washington D.C.
He served as Cook County Sheriff from 1954-1958 and as State Treasurer from 1959-1961.
After his defeate for Illinois Governor in the Democratic Primary in 1960 Lohman went to California to serve as a Dean in the University of California, Berkley School of Criminology from 1961 tell his death in 1968.
