Bodenhorn was born in Coolspring and has lived all his life in Jefferson County. He attended Punxsutawney High School, served four years in the U.S. Navy, then continued his education at Ohio Institute and Williamsport Community College.
With his brother, he owns and operates Harry and Ed’s, a Reynoldsville automobile sales and service business.
Bodenhorn was also a supervisor in Oliver Township for eight years, has been an instructor at Jeff Tech in Reynoldsville for 15 years and is a Jefferson County deputy sheriff.
Bodenhorn and his wife, Mary Ann, have four daughters and eight grandchildren. The couple has also been foster parents to more than 30 children over 15 years.
Bodenhorn also campaigned for the GOP nomination in the 66th District in 2002.
