InfoTim Carson, a native of Scottdale, is the oldest of three sons of Carol and Tom Carson. After graduating from Southmoreland High School, he became the first member of his family to graduate from college. After receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management and Accounting from Waynesburg College 1993, Tim decided to focus on two important goals: business and public service.

From 1993 to 2004, Tim managed his family’s business, Carson’s Tavern in Scottdale. Subsequently, he founded Carson’s Premier Catering. While successful in business, he was drawn to community service. He was elected to Scottdale Borough Council in 1993, where
he remained until becoming Mayor in 1996. During his tenure, which lasted through 2003, Tim won praise for his efforts to increase business and tourism opportunities.

Tim’s campaign for the State House centers on putting his government and business experience to work for all residents of the 52nd District. Job creation, access to health care and prescription drugs, real property tax relief and working to strengthen and grow small businesses are Tim’s priorities for progress in the 52nd District. Tim opposes legislative pay raises and supports strong lobbyist disclosure and reform.

Tim has been endorsed by the Westmoreland County Democratic Committee, the United Association of Plumbers & Pipefitters Local 354, International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 30 Federal Credit Union and the United Auto Workers Southwest Pennsylvania C.A.P. Program.

Tim and his wife Julie live in Scottdale with their two children, Stephen and Zoe.
