Info | As a lifelong resident of Masontown, Bob has a genuine connection to the community and has family in each of the counties, Bob lost his dad in a tragic coal mining accident at the age of 11, which left he and his mother with no income, so he knows what hard times are like.
Danko was educated in Georges and German townships and was a member of the first class to graduate from Dickinson College Sheriff Training program.
Bob Danko is currently serving his 5th term as Fayette County treasurer, and he feels it would be an honor for him to serve as a state representative for a district he cares about and respects.
In addition to his responsibilities as Fayette County Treasurer, Bob served as President and Vice President of the Pennsylvania Treasurer's Association and Executive Board.
Prior to becoming Fayette County Treasurer in 1990, Danko was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army, worked for U.S. Steel and was a member of the United Mine Workers . He also worked for the Department of Highways as an Engineer Assistant, for the Fayette County Zoning office, and for the Fayette County Sheriffs office. Danko served on Masontown Council for 4 years and was head of Masontown Borough's Civil Service Commission for 13 years. He currently serves on the board of directors at Smithfield State Bank. He is a member of Hutchinson Sportsmen Club, a life member of Masontown Volunteer Fire Department . and is a member of numerous community organizations.
Danko is very familiar with the counties in which he is running. He has been a licensed pilot since 1955 and operated the Prop Shop at the Greene County Airport in 1955.
