Info | Richard Brown first earned his reputation as a strong and effective voice for the people of his community at the municipal level as a Charlottetown City Councillor. He carried that work ethic as a community advocate with him to the Legislative Assembly following his by-election victory in the riding of Charlottetown-Kings Square in November, 1997.
Richard was once again elected by the people of that district in the election of September, 2003. He presently serves as the Opposition Critic for the Provincial Treasury, Development and Technology, Labour, Energy and the Environment. Richard also sits on a number of Legislative Committees, including the Standing Committee on Agriculture, Forestry and the Environment, the Standing Committee on Community Affairs and Economic Development and the Standing Committee on Privileges, Rules and Private Bills.
Richard completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration at the University of Prince Edward Island, and also has a Public Administration Certificate from the same institution. Along with his responsibilities as an elected official, Richard has worked for several years in the Information Technology sector.
He and his wife Kathy live on Fitzroy Street with their two children, Leslie and Richard.
