| Info | Sophocleus earned his bachelor's degree at the University of Maryland (Baltimore County) in 1986 and his graduate degree at Clemson in 1989, both in Economics. He has been an instructor of economics for 13 years teaching at Auburn University, Clemson University and Southern Union State Community College. He also worked as a Ford Motor Company warranty and policy administrator for almost a decade in the Fairfax (VA), Charlotte (NC), and Atlanta (GA) districts. John came to Alabama ten years ago with his lovely bride, Theresa, and they currently reside in Beauregard, Alabama after their home in Farmville was wrongfully taken by the highway department.
Sophocleus ran for District 82 State House Representative (Jan. 1998) and more recently ran for US House District 3 against Bob Riley where he received 13% of the vote - the highest of the seven Libertarian candidates for US House in the 2000 elections.
