Info | Brian J. O'Neill is serving his fifth four-year term as a member of Philadelphia City Council. The son of a Philadelphia Police Officer, Councilman O'Neill is a graduate of Saint Joseph's University (1971) and Widener University Law School (1975). Prior to his election in 1979, he worked as a juvenile probation officer, a law clerk in the Court of Common Pleas and an attorney in private practice.
Brian is best known for service and accessibility to his constituents and volunteer work on behalf of local non-profit organizations. He maintains weekly District Office meetings on Monday nights where citizens meet with him personally.
Councilman O'Neill served as President of the National League of Cities and as President of the Pennsylvania League of Cities. He is President of his local unit of the American Cancer Society and serves on the Board of his community YMCA.
Councilman O'Neill is Chairman of the Northeast Philadelohia Airoort Advisory Board and a member of the Executive Boards of the Philadelphia Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Philadelphia International Airport Advisory Board.
Mr. O'Neill is special council to the law firm of Fox, Rothschild, O'Brian & Frankel. He is married to Joy and is the father of three daughters.
