| Info | Former Scugog Mayor Doug Moffatt is the Liberal Candidate for Durham.
Mr. Moffatt has been active in political life for many years. First elected as a local councillor in Scugog Township in 1994, Mr. Moffatt served as mayor from 1997 to 2003. During his term as mayor, Mr. Moffatt was a respected member of Durham Regional Council as well as vice chair of the Central Lake Ontario Conservation Authority.
Mr. Moffatt is remains very active in his community. He is currently chairman of the Durham Region Police Services Board and is a director of the Ontario Association of Police Boards.
A former teacher and principal, Mr. Moffatt also had a 17 year career with United Parcel Service where he held a variety of executive positions.
In 1996 Mr. Moffatt was one of the founding members of The Highlands of Durham Games, a successful Celtic Festival and one of Durham Region's most successful tourist attractions.
Mr. Moffatt holds degrees from Toronto Teachers' College and Trent University.
He and his wife Saundra, well-known Ontario Artist, live in Scugog.
