Info | Michele Metrinko Rollins graduated from Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service and Law Center, earning a B.S.F.S. in 1965, a J.D. in 1968, and an LL.M. in Taxation in 1970. She was a staff attorney at the Securities and Exchange Commission, Division of Corporate Regulation, from 1968 to 1971. From 1971 to 1972 she did trial tax work at the Department of Justice, Tax Division, in the U.S. Court of Claims. In February 1972, Ms. Rollins joined EPA to serve as a special assistant to the administrator, William D. Ruckelshaus and later Russell E. Train. Following a brief detail to the Federal Energy Office in 1974, she became the first female Associate Solicitor for Conservation and Wildlife at the Department of Interior from 1974 to 1977. In 1977, she joined the Sun Company as the Associate Counsel and Corporate Secretary. She married John W. Rollins and stayed at Sun Company for three years until 1980.
Ms. Rollins has been admitted to the D.C. Bar, the D.C. Court of Appeals, the United States Court of Claims, the United States Supreme Court, the Pennsylvania State Bar, the Delaware State Bar, and is a member for the Federal Bar Association, and American Bar Association. She is chair of the Beebe Medical Foundation. She is a Trustee at Goldey-Beacom College, and is serving as Chair of the current capital campaign for St. Edmond's Academy, Wilmington, Delaware. She is a member of the Board of Visitors of Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service. She is also Chair of the advisory council for the Delaware Children's Theatre. Ms. Rollins background in public relations includes extensive media experience in radio and television.
As Miss U.S.A., she represented the U.S. in the Miss U.S.A.-World contest in London in 1964. In addition to being a wife and mother of children ages 16 to 20, Ms. Rollins is currently president of Rollins Jamaica, Ltd., the holding company for Rose Hall Ltd. The Rose Hall Great House, an 18th century restoration was personally restored to depict plantation life under the famed "White Witch of Rose Hall," Annie Palmer. Other Jamaica holdings include The Palms, condominiums designed by Edward Durell Stone; Spring Farm, a development of luxury homes, The Highlands, Rose Hall Beach Club, and Rhyne Park. Currently under construction is the Ritz Carlton at Rose Hall. She is President of Brandywine Town Center, a new lifestyle mall under construction at Wilmington Delaware - a 850,000 square foot retail center situated on a 100 acre community site.
