| Info | My Name is BRENDA JONES and I intend to be your next city council member. Having lived in the city of Detroit for over 35 years, and having owned and operated a small business in Downtown Detroit, I have a strong commitment to the city. I am a member of Wyoming Avenue Church of Christ, a graduate of the Detroit Public School System and Wayne State University.
Dedicated to our city, I will bring cooperative leadership skills, which I have acquired throughout my career. As President of the Communications Workers of America Local 4004, I know what it's like to actually be a worker. In my 21 years of union involvement, I have seen both sides: management and worker. I support the living wage.
We have all worked hard to rear our families in this great city. However, I realize that drugs and crime infested neighborhoods, overspending, under funded schools and poor city services makes this November 8th election a critical one. It is my belief that the very foundation of elected officials is to serve the citizens-not just echo the same political rhetoric. I have strong faith that together we can make our city grow. A vote for BRENDA JONES for Detroit City Council will help bring the spirit of cooperation to the city council through my leadership, communicating and negotiating skills.
On November 8th remember J.O.N.E.S. ? Jobs, Opportunities, Neighborhoods, Education and Safety. These are the five things I believe in and will fight to obtain for all Detroiters.
