After being honorably discharged from the United States navy in January 1946, Ambassador Holden started a career in the insurance business. In 1973, Ambassador Holden founded The Holden Group where he held the position of President, CEO and Chairman of the Board. The Company is now a wholly owned subsidiary of Metropolitan Life of New York.

In 1989, Ambassador Holden was named by President Bush the United States of America Ambassador to Jamaica. Today Ambassador Holden is the Managing Partner of The Holden Company.
