Description | Michael Howard is helping the Tories but is it enough to stop New Labour?
"A Populus poll for The Times shows that since Mr. Howard took the reins, the party's popularity has picked up by two points to 35%," SKY News reports from the United Kingdom.
The Tories' gain in popularity hurts the Liberal Democrats while making themselves even more of a challenge for New Labour. The article however continues, "Overall, 19% of voters think Tony Blair will leave Downing Street this year, while 47% believe Mr. Howard will never become prime minister." |
