| Description | This is the site building report for 05/2007. OC had a great month in terms of new
information. We welcome Comedy and RBH to the site building trade, and we welcome
back NYState63, Professor Plum, and Shark Sandwich. I collected the statistics on
5/31/2007 at 6:30 p.m. OC time, so the final numbers for the month may be a little
different. Any numbers not included here will be reflected in next month's report.
As always, I want to thank everyone who has contributed. It takes all of us,
contributing as we are able, to keep OC the greatest political website.
=== News Items ===
In the past month, 38 users posted 601 news items, for an average of 15.8 per user.
This was slightly lower than the 640 average number of news items posted per month in
the past year. Special mention goes to Bill Albers, who passed the 1,000 mark in the
month, and to DFW Dem, who passed 500.
The following table provides information on the top 10 posters of news items in the
past month, the past 12 months, and since the beginning of the site. Note that for
news information only, I have only collected the information for users who have
posted at least one news item since the beginning of 2006. I have not gone through to
collect information on lapsed users.

=== Races Posted ===
In the past month, 28 users posted 4,080 new races, for an average of 146 each. This
was a slight decrease from 5/2006, when 4,149 races were created, but it is over the
2,982 monthly average for the past year.
Some users deserve special mention. Karma, for one, entered a large number of races
in Australian elections. He more than doubled his earlier grand total. Eddy worked on
state legislative party leadership positions and passed the 1,000 mark again, which
made it possible for him to pass the 20,000 mark overall. Brett worked on races in
Japan, and Ev worked on races in Illinois.
As a personal note, I decided to try to hit the 1,000 mark in the past month. It
was a real chore - you have to get in those 34 races per day, every day. I have to
hand it to those who have done it in the past - Thomas Walker six times, Eddy five
times, and Valerie once. I just barely made it across the 1,000 mark. Wow! It was
more than I am able to keep up, for sure. I worked on Pennsylvania's U.S. House races
and North Carolina legislative races of the 19th century.

each. In first place was Karma, whose work with Australian elections did not have a
