Description | Ten days after withdrawing from the U.S. Senate campaign, Republican Mike Taylor declared himself back into the race Tuesday, saying he wants to join a crusade "to save democracy from the smear campaigns."
Taylor suspended campaigning Oct. 10 because he said he was upset over a Montana Democratic Party television ad that he claimed falsely portrayed him as a homosexual and believed that it was hurting his campaign. The ad accused him of running a "student loan scam" and lining his pockets with federal funds when he owned barber and beauty schools in the Denver area in the 1990s. Taylor disputed the allegations, but paid a settlement without admitting guilt. |
