DescriptionUk Polling Report is an independent archive of British political opinion polls, bringing together polls from all the major polling companies in the run up to the 2005 general election and offering commentary and analysis of the latest figures. It is maintained by Anthony Wells.

Scope: I try to include all published polls on voting intention carried out by reputable companies. I do not partial figures, such as leaked private polls, unless the full tables have been released. "Voodoo polls", i.e. push button polls on websites or on digital television, or phone in polls in the newspapers are worthless and are not included. To be reputable a poll must attempt be properly representative of the British electorate. Polling figures are obtained from the papers and from the websites of the polling companies themselves. If you do spot a reputable poll on voting intention that I haven't included, please let me know at newpolls@pollingreport.com

In most cases headline figures only are included, although wherever possible links to the polling companies's own figures are provided. These should include the number of people polled, the full fieldwork dates and in many cases these will include breakdowns by voting intention or demographics.

On other, non-voting intention questions, such as best Prime Minister or attitudes towards a particular political issue I am gradually expanding the archives as time allows. "One off" questions about topical issues are not normally included, although I will sometimes include a link to a relevant poll at the bottom of a subject page.
