Bob was born in Michigan City, Indiana, July 20, 1945 and has lived in Livingston since shortly thereafter. He attended local schools and earned a Bachelor of Science in Earth Science at MSU in 1968. He worked for 25 years as a railroad trainman, 10 years as a small business owner and 15 years in consulting on railroad accidents and public policy. He was a Lieutenant in the US Army Transportation Corp and is a Vietnam Veteran. He is married to Jeanne-Marie Souvigney and they have two grown daughters and 1 grandson, all living in Montana.
Bob represented Livingston in the Montana House from 1985 to 2000 where he served on Taxation, Natural Resources and Fish and Game committees. He is a past member of the Environmental Quality Council and Legislative Finance Committee.
Bob is voluntary director of the Montana State Parks Foundation and board member for the Montana Wilderness Association. He has been active in local Lewis and Clark projects and trails committees.
