Info | Rod D. Martin is Founder and Chairman of Vanguard PAC, an organization dedicated to the promotion of conservative causes. Author of the political column "Vanguard of the Revolution", he is the Center for Cultural Leadership's Senior Fellow in Public Policy and Political Affairs and an attorney and writer from Little Rock, Arkansas. Mr. Martin has served as Director of Policy Planning and Research for Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, has trained activists for the Conservative Party in Great Britain, and has spent over twenty years working for conservative candidates and at all levels of the Republican Party here at home. As Director of Development for The Independent Institute, one of America's premier think-tanks, his duties included oversight of the Independent Scholarship Fund (a K-12 scholarship program helping disadvantaged children attend the schools of their choice), which he helped lead to 67% growth.
Mr. Martin studied political and economic thought at Cambridge University, was elected student body president at Baylor Law School, and has served on the International Law Committee of the Arkansas Bar Association. He is a frequent speaker and talk show guest nationwide, Arkansas's National Federation of Republican Assemblies (NFRA) National Committeeman, and a once-and-future candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives. He serves as Special Counsel to Peter Thiel, founder of the world's largest internet payments service, PayPal.com; and he and Thiel are presently collaborating on a book chronicling the creation and success of that company, as well as its role in "the coming global capitalist revolution."
