Info | United States Congressman Mike Ross is from Prescott, Arkansas.
He is the only Democrat outside California to unseat a Republican incumbent in the 2000 election cycle
He pledges to be a "hands-on" Congressman, to fight for the small town, conservative values that he was raised on, and to be a strong voice for children, working families, and seniors.
Mike is on the Blue Dog Coalition, a group of fiscally conservative Democratic House Members who seek to promote proposals that bridge the gap between ideological extremes.
"I want to be a part of a new generation of leadership in America," Mike said, "one that will foster middle-ground, bipartisan compromise on issues of importance to the American people."
Mike was appointed to seats on the House Committee on Small Business and the House Committee on Agriculture .
He also received a coveted appointment to the newly created House Committee on Financial Services, one of only three Democratic freshmen members to be named to the committee.
Mike was selected to provide the Democratic Response to the President's Weekly Radio Address in a national broadcast and he has been invited to appear on programs such as CNN's "Novak, Hunt and Shields."
Mike is a fifth-generation Arkansan. He was born in Texarkana, Arkansas.
