| Info | Evan Maureen Ryan is an American public servant currently serving as White House Cabinet Secretary in the administration of Joe Biden. She previously served as Assistant Secretary of State for Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) in the Obama Administration (2013–2017) and was assistant for intergovernmental affairs and public liaison for then-Vice President Joe Biden.
Ryan was born in 1971 in Alexandria, Virginia, where she grew up in a middle-class family of Irish Catholic descent.
She married government official Antony Blinken in a bi-denominational ceremony at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Blinken, who served as Deputy Secretary of State under John Kerry in the Obama administration, now serves as Secretary of State under President Biden.
