Info | Rep. Bill Otto, a Democrat, represents parts of St. Charles and St. Louis counties (District 70). His district includes parts of the communities of Chesterfield, Hazelwood, Bridgeton, Maryland Heights, and part of unincorporated St Charles County. He was elected in November 2012.
Rep. Otto worked for 31 years as an air traffic controller, including 20 years at Lambert International Airport in St. Louis. Rep Otto is a founding member of the National Air Traffic Controllers Association where he served as a leader in the St Louis area and later as President at the National level. He also represented the air traffic controllers as a U.S. Representative on an International Committee. A veteran, he served seven years in the United States Navy. Rep. Otto also served three terms on the Bridgeton City Council from 1989 – 1995.
Prior to being elected to the Missouri House, Rep. Otto served on the St. Charles Board of Adjustment as well as the St. Peters Green Environmental & Solid Waste Advisory Committee. Additionally, he has served as a Boy Scout Leader, youth baseball coach, and Pattonville Team leader.
Rep. Otto attended Meramec Community College as well as Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
Born January 1, 1956, in St. Louis, Rep. Otto currently resides in St. Charles with his wife, Kathy. They have six children and five grandchildren.
