Info | Representative Moody has worked for over 25 years on helping define a vision for economic development for the state of Maine and on putting that vision into action. That commitment is the primary reason he ran for state representative in 2002. Rep. Moody has been a pastor, a real estate developer, and has extensive experience in various business management capacities. In 1984-1986 he authored two studies for the Maine Development Foundation where he served as director of business consulting: Entrepreneurship in Maine and Telecommunications Design Strategy for Maine.
Rep. Moody holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Maine, master’s degree from George Washington University Law School, and a master’s degree and Ph.D. in theology from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and Trinity Theological Seminary.
He is a founder of the Albert Schweitzer Academy for the Arts and serves on the board of the Maine Conservation School. Rep. Moody was president and principal shareholder of a bookstore chain, president and founder of Newton&Moody, Inc., a computerized automotive diagnositc center in Portland, and is owner of Stan Moody Assoc., a financial consultant for troubled companies.
Rep. Moody is a registered Maine Guide, a past town selectman in his home town of Manchester, and a life-time resident of Maine. He is married to Barbara Moody and has four grown children, four stepchildren, and a foster child.
