| Info | Rep. John C. McCaherty, a Republican, represents part of Jefferson County (District 90) in the Missouri House of Representatives. He was elected to his first two-year term in November 2010.
In addition to his legislative duties, Rep. McCaherty is the pastor of First Baptist Church of Murphy. He also has more than 20 years of experience in small business where he has worked in service industries, sales and management. Rep. McCaherty served in the United States Air Force from 1984-1989.
Rep. McCaherty is a member of the Northwest Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce, the Jefferson County Republican Club, the Hwy 30 Evangelical Ministerial Alliance and the NRA. He is also an executive board member of the Jefferson County Pregnancy Care Center and a member of the Jefferson Baptist Association Executive Board. Rep. McCaherty has received the Christian Leadership Award.
Rep. McCaherty is a 1983 graduate of Airline High School in Louisiana and is a graduate from Liberty Home Bible Institute. He also graduated summa cum laude from Liberty University in 2010.
Born April 6, 1965 on Columbus Air Force Base in Mississippi, Rep. McCaherty currently resides in High Ridge with his wife, Chris. They have two children, John Brandon McCaherty, his wife Hillary, and granddaughter Leah, and Joshua Dean McCaherty and his wife Andrea.
