Credentials:
I have been organizing to bring the policies of Franklin Roosevelt into the Democratic Party specifically, and the Constitution back into national policy making more broadly, first as an organizer for the Lyndon LaRouche in 2004 campaign and later in the LaRouche Political Action Committee (LPAC). A great portion of my activity has been recruiting youth to ideas associated with scientific investigations and classical artistic and musical composition. These are the necessary components for a cultural shift in our nation's youth and their greater society.
In 2003, at the age of 19, I was elected to the Democratic Central Committee in Alameda County's 16th district out of Oakland, California. It was here that a battle ensued to shape the discussion of the Democratic party from simple, single issue politics to a broader national policy for industrialization and science. During this time I was involved in a vigorous campaign against the recall of governor Gray Davis to stop the imposition of Arnold 'Governator' Schwarzenegger . I lost my reelection to the Democratic Central Committee in 2005.
In July-August 2006 I traveled to Nigeria as part of a fact-finding mission in my function as a political organizer and reporter with Executive Intelligence Review magazine. It was here that I saw the other side of the evils that globalization and free trade have generated-- poverty and suffering beyond belief!
In April 2009, I returned to Africa and went to Sudan to attend a youth conference in Khartoum. This included a visit to the Darfur region and a presentation by President Omar al-Bashir and meetings with other officials in the various regions. The best way to solve the problems of the world is by defeating all forms of imperialism, particularly globalization, world wide.
Character: Personal History
I was born Summer Justice Shields in Anaheim, California to a middle class family and raised in Altadena, California with a short segment of time in Washington D.C. while my father attended Howard University. My mother Priscilla was a secretary and my father Virgil was a researcher with Jet Propulsion Laboratories (JPL) in Pasadena. So, I am a product of the great aerospace tradition that California and our country should invest in. I attended Pasadena High School in Pasadena. At the age of 16 I was exposed to the Lyndon LaRouche in 2000 presidential campaign by my brother Sky Shields. I soon recognized the fundamental problems with education in our system today and I have organized with the Lyndon LaRouche movement ever since. This process has taken me to Africa, Europe and all over the United States to meet all kinds of people and gain irreplaceable and priceless experience. I promote the idea of humanity as the highest representation of creation and the development of a classical humanist form of education, as the basis for a society where humans view themselves primarily as creative beings. This includes study of the classical musical compositions of the likes of J.S. Bach and the philosophical and scientific investigations of Gottfried Leibniz.
