| Info | Councilmember Suzanne Chan has called Fremont her home for nearly 25 years. A transplant from Illinois, Councilmember Chan earned a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from the University of Illinois and a Masters of Science from CSULA in Immunology; did research at the National Institutes of Health; and has taught at Ohlone College, Chabot College, and San Jose State University. Councilmember Chan currently is the Practice Administrator for her husband Steve's pediatric dental office located in Fremont. They are the proud parents of two sons, Scott and Tracy.
Councilmember Chan served on the Fremont Planning Commission from January 2005 to December 2008. She has been actively involved in numerous community organizations including Washington Hospital Foundation, Celebrate Fremont, Citizens for Better Community, South Bay Chinese Club, PFA, One Child, Kristi Yamaguchi's Always Dream Foundation, and Give Kids A Smile Dental Fairs. Her many years of volunteerism and community involvement have provided her the opportunity to reach out and connect with many segments of the public and to build bridges in our culturally rich and diverse community.
