| Info | Deron Bilous, an inner-city teacher who specializes in working with marginalized youth, has been selected to be Edmonton Centre’s NDP Candidate.
“I’m excited to have the chance to work with Edmonton Centre’s working families to help build healthy neighbourhoods,” says Bilous. “We need leadership that protects the interests of Albertans: real solutions for today’s growth and a vision for tomorrow.”
Deron grew up in Edmonton and lives in Central McDougall. He earned a degree in Education from the University of Alberta and speaks French, Spanish and Mandarin.
Deron teaches at Inner City High School, where he works with youth struggling to break out of a cycle of poverty and crime. He also facilitates summer youth drama programs. His experiences working with marginalized young people are part of the inspiration for his candidacy.
“These kids and their families need an advocate in the Legislature. Not just for their sake, but for our neighbourhood’s future.”
