Info | George C. Jepsen joined Cowdery, Ecker & Murphy, L.L.C. in 2003 as of counsel to the firm's broad-based civil litigation practice. Throughout his career, Mr. Jepsen has demonstrated a strong commitment to public service as well as to the private practice of law.
Mr. Jepsen served in the Connecticut State Legislature for sixteen years. He was Majority Leader of the State Senate between 1997 and 2003, and previously had held roles as Chair of the Judiciary Committee and Assistant Majority Leader of the House of Representatives. Mr. Jepsen was the Democratic nominee for Lieutenant Governor in 2002, and served as State Chairman of the Connecticut Democratic Party from 2003 to 2004. He also has been engaged in the practice of law over the past two decades, most recently with the firm of Shipman & Goodwin LLP.
Mr. Jepsen graduated cum laude from Harvard Law School in 1982 and was a teaching fellow in the Government Department at Harvard University from 1980 to 1982. He received a master's degree in Public Policy from Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government, and is a Phi Beta Kappa, summa cum laude graduate of Dartmouth College
