Info | ABOUT STEVE KAGEN
Steve Kagen is a problem solver and trusted servant of the people in Northeastern Wisconsin. Steve was born and raised in Appleton, where he lives with his wife, Gayle, and where they have raised their four children. He has a lifetime of experience in family and small business matters, and is a caring physician. He’s been successful in solving people’s problems for more than 24 years, and to date, more than 50,000 people have entrusted their futures and their lives to Steve Kagen.
Steve understands that results are achieved by hard work. He began working at the Foremost Dairy as a Teamster – Teamster Membership Card - , bagging sugar and whey products during summer months, and later earned an Honors Degree in Molecular Biology and his Medical Degree from the University of Wisconsin in Madison. Steve is one of several generations in the Kagen family to serve the community as a physician; his father Dr. Marv Kagen and brother, Dr. Charlie Kagen, practice Dermatology together in Appleton.
Steve’s community service throughout Wisconsin has been considerable. As a successful small businessman, he established Kagen Allergy Clinics in Appleton, Green Bay, Oshkosh, and Fond du Lac. He also serves as an assistant Clinical Professor at the Medical College of Wisconsin, teaching doctors about the best treatments for allergy and asthma patients, and where none exist, he develops them in his state of the art allergy research laboratory in downtown Appleton.
Steve is triple Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Allergy and Immunology, and Diagnostic Laboratory Immunology. Steve is known nationally as an environmental expert, as he studies the effects of pollens and mold spores upon our health. Recently, the EPA recognized Steve for his service to children in our Wisconsin communities with a 2005 Children’s Environmental Health Recognition Award, for creating, and funding, a 5th grade health education program that protects children from environmental risks.
Wisconsin doctors voted for Steve as one of the “Best Doctors in America,” and for seven years, CNN trusted Steve as their Allergy Consultant. Steve lectures nationally and internationally, and is known worldwide for discovering new causes of asthma.
Steve has been solving problems for people for three decades, during which time he has never backed down from doing whatever it took to improve the quality of life for those in need. Steve is more than prepared to serve everyone as our new Congressperson for the 8th Congressional District.
Steve is running for U.S. Congress to secure and protect the economic health of all our communities. To do this, Steve understands that healthcare must be affordable.
He has developed the No Patient Left Behind™ - idea, which contains 5 Essential Elements that will guarantee affordable care for each and every citizen.
Steve’s 5 Essential Elements of healthcare delivery are:
1. Open Disclosure … of all health care related prices;
2. Unitary Pricing … where everyone pays the same openly disclosed price;
3. One National Insurance Risk Pool … if you’re a citizen, you’re in;
4. Household Deductibles … that are 3% of a household’s taxable federal income; and
5. Governments Must Provide for the Needy ... by covering costs for those in need.
“Together, We Will create a healthy and secure America, everywhere in these United States. In this democracy, and at this time in our history, people rightly demand that its leaders join together to defend our national security, to end the War in Iraq, to attract high wage jobs for those able to work, to balance our budgets, to secure equal opportunity and gender equality for all, to bring an end to special privileges for the few, and to preserve each and every one of our hard won civil liberties.
And by defending our national security, we mean to correctly include the protection of our quality of life, everywhere in these United States, by guaranteeing the ongoing success of Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid, and by vigorously defending our Environment, as we seek to become an Energy independent nation.
Securing our future begins by solving our American healthcare dilemma, with No Patient Left Behind.
I strongly believe Together, We Will.”
